Shloka 70 - Sri Varadarajastava

ताराभिरामपरिणाहलसत्सिताभ्रं तापिच्छमेचकमुरः शरदन्तरिक्षम् ।

प्राप्यैव देव तव कौस्तुभपूर्णचन्द्रः पूर्णां बिभर्ति पुरुषोत्तम कान्तिरेखाम् ॥७०॥

T:  Oh Lord, the Kaustubha gem on Your chest is resplendent like the wintry full moon. Your chest sports the starry camphor-white pure pearls in its expanse and enjoys enhanced lustre.  The wintry sky is illumined by pearly stars and also has white clouds. The whole expanse has a unique dusky appearance too, like the Himalayan shesham tree. 

Explanation: Only when the moon finds himself in the clear wintry sky does he find his total resplendence. Similarly, the Kaustubha gem only finds its brilliance when resting on the Lord's chest! This comparison uses the figure of speech Śleṣa as it puns on the words- the Lord's chest and the wintry sky. Again, the word Tārābhirāma means the necklace of white pearls and the constellation of stars in the wintry sky.  The word Sitābhra means milky white clouds and the fragrant camphor on the Lord's chest. This is a classic simile employing the pun or Śleṣa.

Translation
Oh, Lord, the Supreme Being, the moon that rests on Your chest as the Kausthubha, respelendent being surrounded by stars, with the pearl necklaces being white clouds, only after by attaining his place on Your dark and beautiful chest that is like the Sesham tree, shows his full radiance.
