त्वां वीक्ष्य मुक्तिद जनास्तरणिं सखायं भिन्द्युः किलेति तव भूषणपद्मरागाः ।
शङ्के चिरं जनदृशः स्वकरैः क्षिपन्ति तन्मात्रतोऽपि तव मुक्तिदतामबुद्ध्वा ॥३४॥
T: Oh, Śrī Varadarāja, granting liberation to all devout seekers, fearing that those devotees being liberated will be able to break through the barrier of the sun, sun's close associates, viz., the Padmarāga gemstones that glitter from Your ornaments, appear to be dispelling the eyes of those devotees by their dazzle! Alas, the gems hardly know that for those devotees, their mere glance at Your divine form and those very ornaments is sufficient for them to be granted by You their liberation!
Explanation: The Vedic scriptures state that during the process of acquiring liberation, the seeker has to break through the orb of the sun (in other words, overcoming the physical universe and its bondage). As the Padmarāga gemstones glitter and dazzle with a red hue, the poet imagines them to be close friends of the sun. The gemstones, fearing that their dear friend the sun is about to be pierced by the devotees, attempt to blind the devotees' eyes with their dazzle, hindering their spiritual progress. However, the reality is that even if the devotee opens his eyes to gaze upon the sanctifying form of Śrī Varadarāja, the Lord is so pleased that He surely grants them liberation. This is not realised by those Padmarāga gemstones, according to the poet. The gatekeepers of a king stop anyone trying to enter for a meeting with the king. But when the gatekeepers are informed that the visitors are indeed under the grace of the king, they at once let them enter. This situation is similar as even a first glance at the Lord's form is enough for the devotee to be granted liberation and there is no doubt about it as per this stanza!
