Shloka 37 - Sri Varadarajastava

अन्तस्तमांसि यमिनामपसारयन्ती हृत्पङ्कजान्यपि च नाथ विकासयन्ती ।

भक्तप्रवेकभववारिनिधेस्तरण्योस्त्वत्पादयोर्जयति कापि मयूखमाला॥३७॥

T: Oh, Lord Śrī Varadarāja, the glowing rays emanating like waves of garlands from Your feet are indescribable. They remove the darkness in the hearts of adept Yogis and also make the lotus of devotion blossom in their hearts. The best among devotees striving to cross the ocean of worldly bondage find in them dependable sailboats! In other words, oh, Lord, these garlands of brilliant rays proclaim victory everywhere! 

Explanation: The sun's rays remove darkness. They also make lotuses blossom in the lakes. Similarly, the rays emitted by the Lord's feet remove the darkness of ignorance in the hearts of meditators. They also make the lotus of devotion blossom therein! In addition, they also perform the task of safely ferrying across the ocean of worldly existence those sincere devotees who take refuge in them. The poet extols these indescribable rays of grace from the Lord's feet and hails victory for them always. 

The comparisons here are Bhavasāgara= ocean of worldliness and the Lord's feet= the safe ferry-boats for His advanced devotees. This figure of speech is called Rūpaka (Metaphor).

Translation
Oh, Supreme Lord, the indescribable garland of rays emanating from Your two feet is glorious. Your feet are the safe ferry boats for exlated devotees to cross the ocean of worldliness. The rays dispel the darkness in the hearts of meditators, and also make the lotus of devotion blossom there!
