॥ ॐ नमो भगवते वासुदेवाय ॥
व्यामोहप्रशमौषधं मुनिमनोवृत्तिप्रवृत्यौषधं
दैत्येन्द्रार्तिकरौषधं त्रिभुवने सञ्जीवनैकौषधम् ।
भक्तात्यन्तहितौषधं भवभयप्रध्वंसनैकौषधं
श्रेयःप्राप्तिकरौषधं पिब मनो श्रीकृष्णदिव्यौषधम् ॥२४॥
Translation: Oh, mind! Take this medicine -the supreme medicine for eradicating delusory attachments to 'I and mine", the tonic that inculcates the spirit of a true ascetic, the medicine that torments our enemies (inner and outer), the medicine heralded in three worlds for its unique life-giving properties, the medicine that fosters the utmost wellbeing of a devotee, the preventive that destroys the fear of worldliness and its bondage, finally conferring our supreme wellbeing - the divine medicine called Śrī Kṛṣṇa!!!
Notes: The devotee continues his dialogue, this time with his mind. For it is the mind that controls the tongue, and calculates what is for its supreme good. The two words, Śreyas and Preyas, are important for a seeker to understand. Whereas all the worldly pleasures and hopes and aspirations come under Preyas, that is "pleasant", they may not be necessarily "good" i.e. Śreyas. In this and the previous verse, the value of Japa is shown to be supremely good. That is निश्श्रेयस्. All the pleasures of the world are in the category of Preyas and may drag the devotee down to worldly bondage. Bhakti with discipline on the other hand confers the supreme good. The power of the Lord's name on the devotee's lips and on his mind chanted constantly is incomparable and infallible in bringing the ultimate good to the devotee.
