सुलभाः पुरुषा लोके सततं प्रियवादिनः ।
अप्रियस्य च पथ्यस्य वक्ता श्रोता च दुर्लभः ॥ १११ ॥
Men who are always praising you and saying good things are easy to find.
But rare are those who can speak or listen to unpleasant but well-meaning words.
स्वगृहे पूज्यते मूर्खः स्वग्रामे पूज्यते प्रभुः ।
स्वदेशे पूज्यते राजा विद्वान् सर्वत्र पूज्यते ॥ ११२ ॥
A fool receives respect at home, a chieftain in his village.
A king receives respect in his kingdom, but a scholar receives respect everywhere.
हस्तस्य भूषणं दानं सत्यं कण्ठस्य भूषणम् ।
कर्णस्य भूषणं शास्त्रं भूषणैः किं प्रयोजनम् ॥ ११३ ॥
Charity is the ornament for one's hand, truth is the ornament for one's throat.
Listening to scriptures is the ornament for the ears,
Hence, what need is there for external ornaments?
ओङ्कारं बिन्दुसम्युक्तं नित्यं ध्यायन्ति योगिनः ।
कामदं मोक्षदं चैव ओङ्काराय नमो नमः ॥ ११४ ॥
The sacred sound OM fulfills all our desires, also confers liberation.
The adept meditators constantly meditate on this sacred sound OM
That is the centre of all creation.
Hence, let us offer our obeisance to OM!
