कुम्भकर्णः कपीन्द्रेण तुल्यावस्थः स्वसुः कृतः ।
रुरोध रामं शृङ्गीव टङ्कच्छिन्नमनश्शिलः ॥१२.८०॥
Notes: Kālidāsa says, “Then came Kumbhakarṇa into battle, and was mutilated by the king of Vānaras, Sugrīva, to look like his sister Śūrpaṇakha with nose and ears lopped off. He then resembled a mountain of blood-red rocks split open by sharp weapons as he confronted Śrīrāma."
