ततो बिभेद पौलस्त्यः शक्त्या वक्षसि लक्ष्मणम् ।
रामस्त्वनाहतोऽप्यासीद्विदीर्णहृदयः शुचा ॥१२.७७॥
Notes: Kālidāsa says, “Then, entering the battlefield to offset the benediction of Garuḍa, Rāvaṇa launched the divine weapon Śakti at Lakṣmaṇa, who then swooned and appeared lifeless. Śrīrāma, who had in fact not been hurt by that weapon, was so deeppy distressed that his heart was as good as rent by that Śakti."
