Saturday, 22 April 2023 - X a.26- The Vraja villagers are perplexed about who Sri Krishna of these superhuman deeds could actually be. Nanda explains how Sage Garga has told him that Krishna is an incarnation of Bhagavan Maha Vishnu Himself.

T: What were the Vraja villagers to make of these most astonishing superhuman acts of a mere boy? How would this unique being be born in a lowly village of cowherds? Hadn't this young boy of seven lifted a mighty mountain like Govardhana, and held it aloft effortlessly for a whole seven days, as easily as a tusker would pluck and hold a lotus in his trunk!?
When he was a baby in the cradle, and Putana came to breastfeed him with poison, didn't he, with eyes closed, suck out her very life and survive!? Didn't the baby kick to pieces a big fully laden cart? Didn't he break the neck of the whirlwind demon Trinavarta!? Didn't he deal with Baka? Didn't he save everyone from the deadly super python Aghasura? Didn't he crawl across the huge Arjuna trees and fell them when his mother tied him to a pestle stone? Didn't he quell Kaliya and purify the Yamuna waters?
They all asked Nanda with one voice:
"What an enchantment Sri Krishna has cast on us? Our love for him is immeasurable, and we see he loves us all equally! This is something most extraordinary, is it not!!!? King Nanda, pray tell us, can you explain to us this phenomenon of your son, Sri Krishna!!??? WHO IS SRI KRISHNA INDEED???"

" Oh, Gopas! Kindly listen to what I am going to say. When this boy was born, I received the great sage Garga. What he said was extraordinary. He told us, "this is an incarnation, he was born respectively white, red, and yellow-golden in different Yugas. Now he is dark, as Krishna. He was once the son of Vasudeva! Indeed he enjoys the epithet Vaasudeva in the three worlds. What can I say? he is known by many different names! These names have been earned by him by his deeds and his qualities. Most people would not know these names. he has taken birth to confer enormous good on the Gopas and Gokula. You shall all overcome repeated hurdles and difficulties by his deeds. Those who love krishna are indeed as blessed as the gods who are under the care of Maha Vishnu. Nobody can touch or harm those who love Sri Krishna. Not even the inner foes (Kama Krodha etc.) Whichever way you see, King Nanda, this boy is indeed the incarnation of Bhagvaan Maha Vishnu! In form, quality, grace, power, fame, prosperity and compassion. So be prepared for the incredible acts of Sri Krishna, and don't be surprised!"
"Having said this, Sage Garga departed. I therefore belive totally that Sri Krishna is Bhagavan Maha Vishnu Himself."

T: It was now the turn of the Vraja Gopas to say a prayer to Bhagavan. They said:
"Indra was incensed to be denied his Yajna offerings, and hailed on us torrential rain like mortar pestles and hailstones that would shatter us. The wind was devastating. We were all so distressed and hence simply surrendered to our Lord! Sri Krishna's heart melted. He decided to show his Yogic Leela. Smilingly, a tender boy of seven lifted the Govardhana Hill and held it up for seven long days, without any difficulty, like lifting a mushroom! He protected us all, the Vraja people and our animal stock, so well! He also broke down the arrogance of Indra! We sing His praises, May the Lord of Cowherds, Govinda, be pleased with us!"
