॥ ॐ नमो भगवते वासुदेवाय ॥
Friday, 17 February 2023 - Srimad Bhagavatam VIII.17- Aditi's Payo-vrata brings Bhagavan's Darshan. He blesses her that He will take birth as her child and ameliorate the condition of Devas.

After Aditi performed the Payo-vrata ceremony for twelve continuous days, the Lord, who was certainly very pleased with her, appeared before her in His form with four hands and dressed in golden cloth. As soon as Aditi saw Bhagavan, she immediately got up, and with great ecstatic love for the Lord, she fell to the ground to offer respectful obeisances. Aditi’s throat was choked because of ecstatic feelings, and her entire body trembled with devotion. Although she wanted to offer suitable prayers to the Lord, she could not do anything, and thus she remained silent for some time. Then, feeling solace, and observing the beauty of the Lord, she offered her prayers.
श्रीअदितिरुवाच
यज्ञेश यज्ञपुरुषाच्युत तीर्थपाद तीर्थश्रव: श्रवणमङ्गलनामधेय ।
आपन्नलोकवृजिनोपशमोदयाद्य शं न: कृधीश भगवन्नसि दीननाथ: ॥
T: Aditi said: "Oh master and enjoyer of all Yajnas, Oh infallible Ishwara whose name, when chanted, spreads all good fortune! Oh, Bhagavan, supreme controller, the one worshipped in sacred places, You are the shelter of all poor, suffering living entities, and You have appeared to diminish their suffering. Please be kind to us and spread our good fortune."
And so on.
श्रीभगवानुवाच
देवमातर्भवत्या मे विज्ञातं चिरकाङ्क्षितम् । यत् सपत्नैर्हृतश्रीणां च्यावितानां स्वधामत: ॥
T: Bhagavan responded with supreme benediction. He explained, "Oh, Mother of Devas, I have already understood your long-cherished desires for the welfare of your sons, who have been deprived of all opulences and driven from their residence by their enemies. Their enemies are now most powerful and cannot be won by war."
त्वयार्चितश्चाहमपत्यगुप्तये पयोव्रतेनानुगुणं समीडित: ।
स्वांशेन पुत्रत्वमुपेत्य ते सुतान्गो प्तास्मि मारीचतपस्यधिष्ठित: ॥
T: "You have prayed to Me and properly worshipped Me by performing the great Payo-vrata ceremony for the sake of protecting your sons. Because of Sage Kashyapa's austerities, I shall agree to become your son and thus protect your other sons."
Following the order of Bhagavan, Aditi engaged in the service of her husband, who could see in his Samadhi that the Lord was within him. He thus placed his semen in the womb of Aditi. Lord Brahma, who is known also as Hiranyagarbha (the original golden egg for the manifestation of all creation), understood that Bhagavan had entered Aditi’s womb. Thus he offered ardent prayers to the Lord.
