Feeling love - Kyoto's Cherry Blossoms

(Photo taken from Tourist Guide)

A nation obsessed with perfection
Japan preserves its charm
In its royal city Kyoto.

Palaces, pagodas, pathways in old streets.
Zen monasteries of stillness
Where Time has come to watch
And stands transfixed.
Little pebbles in meditation
Speaking their profound story of silence...
People browsing ancient scrolls in antique shops.
There is no mad rush like in Shinjuku.
There is calm and a balance like no other.

The river meanders through the city
With delightful pathways
And bridges
Tea houses on either side
Serving a celebration
Of quietude, culture and camaraderie.

In spring I saw cherry blossoms
Drifting down in the river
As trees bend down in love
Shedding their cheerful offering
To celebrate God's gift, man's love,
Nature's promise,
And eternal joy in the moment.

(Recalling my Kyoto visit in 2003...)
