Bhutan

They call it the land of the thunder dragon
But the people are always smiling.
The Tiger's Nest is where Rimpoche flew in to settle.
But a hard trek was needed to reach his high abode.
Gangtey receives the black-necked crane every winter.
We heard its stories whispered in the misty green hills.
Punakha's Fortress is formidable for the enemy
But it gave us a flowery welcome.
Takin is a fierce and wild half cow and half goat.
But it ate baby bamboo shoots out of our hand.
The bronze Buddha sits atop Thimphu's hill.
Showering his benevolence on king and country.
