॥ ॐ नमो भगवते वासुदेवाय ॥
तत्त्वं ब्रुवाणानि परं परस्मात् मधुक्षरन्तीव सतां फलानि ।
प्रावर्तय प्राञ्जलिरस्मि जिह्वे नामानि नारायणगोचराणि ॥३०॥
Translation: Oh, Tongue! I bow down to you. I beg you to repeat continuously the holy names that take you to dwell in Nārāyaṇa, those that reveal with honeyed sweetness the most supreme truths of existence, and have been realised by the holy ascetics!
Notes: The tongue is the only organ of both perception and action. In fact, all the sages and saints have said that the tongue can make or break a man's future depending on how much he can regulate it. Eating, enjoying, craving, speaking, delighting, harming, hurting, ennobling, inspiring, expressing, so many functions all depend on the tongue! here, the devotee is appealing to the tongue with bowed head, knowing its proclivities, that the honeyed name of the Lord is so sweet, so ennobling, and so rewarding of the supreme truth, that the tongue will immensely enjoy the experience of chanting the Lord's name.
